Christmas in Scaër-Ponia: Welcome to the North Pole of the Rias

Logo Bretagne

What do you think of a trip to the far north of the destination Quimperlé les rias? We're talking about the town of Scaër, of course, which turns into the land of Father Christmas in December...

Greencap: Discovering the Christmas tree nursery

Head to the Christmas tree nursery in the morning to choose your favourite companion for the festive season.

In the middle of 600 hectares of pine groves, you will find the largest producer of Breton pine trees in Scaër!

Harvested at the age of 7, nearly 350,000 trees are sold every year for the Christmas season. These trees are supplied to garden centres, DIY stores, farm shops and wholesalers in France, England, Germany, Morocco and Malaysia.

If you would like to buy your own Breton Christmas tree, Greencap will be opening its doors to the public from 4 December, subject to stock availability!

Meet Santa Claus in Scaër

Visit the Christmas market in Scaër on 9 December, organised by the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture La Marelle.

The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, just like the destination of Quimperlé les rias and its inhabitants. Around forty local artisans and producers will be on site, giving you the opportunity to discover Breton know-how. And why not do some last-minute shopping to surprise your loved ones!

Father Christmas will also be making an appearance at this Christmas market, which is a favourite with exhibitors and visitors alike... A magical moment for all ages!

Theatre, elf factory, pony rides, games and musical entertainment are also on the programme to take you on a journey to Santa's land...

A snack bar will be available throughout the day.
